Crawford Pretoria and Rekord newspaper are running a charity drive to collect unused sport equipment to those who need it most.

Fish played in his last soccer match for Bafana Bafana against Ghana in the 2004 World Cup.

He encouraged the young learners to persevere and always give their best.

He spoke about his own journey to becoming a soccer star.

“If you are committed to achieve your goals, anything is possible.”

“You are fortunate to have sport equipment. Bring your equipment so other children can play sports.”

Crawford preparatory principal Ian McLeod used to be a soccer world cup referee and refereed some matches Fish played in.

Readers who wish to donate sport equipment can hand it in at Crawford college or the preparatory reception until Friday.

Items can also be taken to the Malas soccer festival at Harlequins sports field on Friday from 15:00 onward.
