Tyger Valley college recently held a Cansa Shavathon to show their support for cancer sufferers.

The shavathon was a joint effort by the high school and preparatory school and learners donated money to have their hair sprayed in different colours.

The learners could wear civvies if they supported and/or contributed to the shavathon.

A target set by Tyger Valley college teachers who volunteered to have their hair shaved was met.

Teachers Roland Steyn, Mario Mostert, Gary Viljoen, Jono Buck and Justin Van Basson had clean shaven heads thanks to the head boy, Graham Thompson, and fellow prefect Nickalous Pinheiro.

The school raised R60 593,30 to spread awareness and research for cancer.

Principal Gavin Langley, even had his head sprayed in support of this worthy cause.
