Quick bedroom fixes that don’t cost much time or money

Follow these simple steps to create a space you’re happy to unwind in OR Proof that small changes can lead to big results…

We’re all about bedrooms this month, from décor trends last week (HYPERLINK to SEPTEMBER 1ST trends article) to simple tips and tricks today that will help make your bedroom look good and feel great! This advice is from linen specialists, Volpes:

  • A messy bedroom is not conducive to relaxation, so start by decluttering and giving your room a good spring clean! Clear out the drawers in the bedside pedestals and vacuum or steam clean your mattress, headboard, base and the floor underneath the bed.
  • Refresh a tired scheme with a new duvet cover and pillow slips – there are so many new colours and designs available!
  • Make your bed look more comfortable and inviting by adding a throw in a colour that complements the rest of the room. You’ll be amazed at the difference a small change like this can make! Throws are also great for snuggling under during an afternoon nap (yes, napping is good for you!).
  • Introduce new bedside lights for an instant update.
  • Indoor plants have made a huge comeback, so include a couple in your bedroom. They add a pop of fresh green, release oxygen and remove toxins from the air, creating a more healthy environment. Choose greenery that suites the light conditions in your bedroom, water them regularly and dust the leaves. Don’t have green fingers? Go for faux versions instead.
  • Up the cosy factor with a new area rug for a touch of warmth, colour and texture.
  • Accessories aside, it’s important to keep your bedroom hygienic. Pillow protectors will help keep sweat stains, skincare products and other marks off your pillow for longer, while a washable mattress protector will keep dust cells and skin cells from migrating to your actual mattress.
  • To get the best night’s sleep possible, choose a comfortable duvet and pillows. Our duvet inners and pillows come in duck down, feathers and synthetic microfibres.
