WATCH: Petrolheads, car fanatics go big at Oval

At least 1 000 car lovers and petrol heads came out to enjoy the day.

The Oval Raceway and the T3 Motorshow hosted a motor show on Sunday 4 October, bringing together petrol heads from all over Gauteng to have a fun-filled day.

Marilize Coetzee, promoter of the Oval Raceway, said there was a constant flow of car enthusiasts, clubs, crews, business and families coming to marvel at the spectacle of the day. She added that people enjoyed spinning and drifting at the event – one of the activities that captivated the spectators.

At least 1 000 people attended the event throughout the day. It was really a day of passion, and after the interest that people have shown, we are looking forward to hosting another show soon,” Marilize said.

She said the vintage cars, the classics, including BMW E30s – commonly known as Gusheshe – made their mark, while clubs such as for Mustang and VW Beetle enthusiasts displayed their best for car lovers to feast their eyes on.

“People were also lucky to see premium cars such as Porches and Ferraris. Another highlight was a Sound Off competition where the decibels of vehicles’ sound systems were tested in different categories, with winners scooping up prizes. ‘We also had the Show and Shine, were people had a chance to show off their nice rides.
