Teen grateful for SPCA project’s success

Support for the project exceeded her expectations as donations came in left, right and centre.

West Rand’s teen animal lover, Dominique Dos Ramos, who recently embarked on a project to feed fur babies kept at the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp SPCA, said she takes her hat off to the community members who contributed to her worthy cause.

As the government began relaxing some lockdown rules, the Grade 11 Hoërskool Monument learner didn’t just sit back – she braved the Covid-19 scare and began a collection drive for the animal shelter that is in desperate need.

Support for the project exceeded her expectations as donations came in left, right and centre. “A huge thank you goes to the community for all the donations to the SPCA. It is humbling and heart-warming to see how many people care for the well-being of our fur babies. Thank you so much. God bless you,” a humbled Dominque expressed her gratitude.

As the SPCA takes in vulnerable animals almost on a daily basis, the youngster also encouraged the community to donate more items to keep the shelter adequately equipped.

“The SPCA also has a donkey and some geese, so carrots, hay and apples are welcome,” she mentioned.

“Should you wish to donate blankets, food, kennels, clothes or newspapers, please email michelledosramos1@gmail.com or 082 255 1550 to collect,” she added.

Lastly, she reminded the community that the SPCA also accepts monetary donations. Their banking details are as follows:
