Help Wilro Lions to comfort cancer patients

Times are tough for these special little people. They spend long periods waiting to go into the hospital due to the crisis and social distancing regulations.

The Lions Club of Wilro Park is helping to alleviate the stress childhood cancer brings and the experiences associated with it by supplying the children with cancer comfort kits.

Sandy van Heerden, the public relations officer for the Wilro Lions Club explained, “Times are tough for these special little people. They spend long periods waiting to go into the hospital due to the crisis and social distancing regulations. Our gift brings the little fighters a little comfort as they wait their turn.”

She added that the comfort kit contains a small blanket, beanie, face mask, facecloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, aqueous cream, lip balm, a colouring-in book, crayons and a small washable toy.
