Steps to register for homeschooling

With the announcement by Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga that schools will be reopening on 8 June for Grades 7 and 12 learners, a lot of parents are scared to send their children to school and are looking into alternative options.

She did however add that, if parents opted to homeschool their children, they would have to register them at the Department of Education.In a bid to help parents understand this process, the Member of the Electoral Committee (MEC) for Education, Panyaza Lesufi revealed the process parents should follow, and said, “… if you feel your child should not return to class next week, here’s a process that you need to follow. Kindly read this carefully.
