I recently came across the most interesting facts which I would like to share with you.

I recently came across the most interesting facts which I assume you didn’t know about your body, and want to share them with you.

If you did know about them though, you must be a scientist, because I really didn’t know. So here we go.

It’s said that …

• Your nose is always visible to you. Your mind ignores it through a process called Unconscious Selective Attention.

• Picking your nose and eating the result may be beneficial to your immune system.

• Humans are the best on the planet when it comes to long-distance running. We can outrun every other animal and run in conditions no other animals can run in.

• A pair of human feet consists of 52 bones and accounts for 25% of all bones in the body.

• The “ashes” you get after cremation is crushed bone, as the rest of the body (organic matter) vaporises at high temperatures.

• The human tongue is made of 8 different muscles, 4 of which (called the intrinsic muscles) are not even connected to a bone.

• If you pour cold water into a person’s ear, their eyes will move in direction of the opposite ear, but if you pour warm water into their ear, their eyes will move towards that ear. This is used to test for brain damage and is called ‘caloric stimulation’.
