Walking for cancer awareness

Residents walked to spread awareness about prostate and breast cancers.

Residents came together to organise a fun walk to educate the community during cancer awareness month.

According to Zandile Ndlovu, one of the organisers of the fun walk, it was arranged so that they could spread awareness about both prostate and breast cancer. Since September was Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Zandile wanted to educate the community.

She stated about 35 people attended the event and walked a total of 5km. During the walk, they delivered motivating speeches and wore the colours blue and purple which represented both cancers.
