Meet a Super Tiger – John Qumza

John Qumza (16) has played for the Greenhills Super Tigers Football Club for two years and he dreams of following in the footsteps of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 16-year-old started liking football when he played with his friends. They usually played in the streets. However, now John can enjoy playing on a green field while wearing his football gear.

He is currently playing as a left-wing for the club but would like to try out the other positions as well.

His favourite thing about football is meeting new people, learning new skills and being able to use the skills he learned in soccer while playing other sports like hockey.

His proudest achievement is his triumph over fear. A while ago he injured his left foot and he was fearful to use that foot on the field. However, he has since conquered that fear.

His biggest inspiration is his mother who always cares for him. John said his mother wakes him up to accomplish his goals and she always encourages him to do his best.

“Football is a short career, so my advice to those striving for success is to also be successful in your education,” he remarked.
