Developing boxers on their way to success

The West Rand Boxing Amateur Township Boxing year-end function for 2023 was held recently for developing boxers.

Developing boxers from various clubs on the West Rand were rewarded for their efforts in the ring last year.

Last month, the West Rand Boxing Amateur Township Boxing year-end function for 2023 was held at the Kagiso Stadium by Thanya Productions. The prestigious event celebrated many upcoming boxers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Guest speakers that attended were Michael and Mahlatsi Sediane.

“The event was a huge success,” said Anthony Johnson, a coach and trainer.

He added that Thanya Productions is a company that is actively involved in developing sports in various communities.

“The company sponsors meals for young sporting heroes and assists in organising the boxing tournament held in Toekomsrus in October 2023.” Anthony further stated that the company is involved with boxing clubs in Mohlakeng, Bekkersdal, and Kagiso.

As far as awards go, numerous boxers won the title of Most Hardworking and Dedicated Boxer of 2023. They are Lesedi Thoane, Rudzani Netshitadzi, Thato Lekhosa, Lehlohonolo Molefe and Junior Mazibe.

In addition, Mpho Mazibuko, Tshepiso Letlhage, Nkula Mpumelelo, Henry Leburu, Theo Otto, Angel Mokaye, Mbulelo Khota, Salvador Vanicela, Anivia Chatane, Gentlemen Mokaye and Avuyile Ntshula received the title of Most Promising and Upcoming Boxer in 2023.

The Selfless, Determination and Dedication as a trainer in boxing titles went to Henry Moloke, Moeketsi Morolong, Samson Nkula, Antony Johnson, Samelia Judy Martins, Joseph Welkom, Joseph Dlangamandla, Pule Mahloko, Tom Hoging, Florence Hogins, Vincent Hogins and Vincent Mahuma for their tireless commitment to coaching boxers.
