Curtis Mudila said he is truly grateful to have made it thus far and takes none of it for granted.

“It feels nice to have come this far. I feel proud of myself and everyone is proud of me. I thank God for keeping me where I am, and I just want to encourage those who didn’t make it to keep on doing their best,” said Mudila.

He added that he’d like to participate in the Olympics in the future, as this is one of his goals.
His good friend Mukoma was unfortunately not available at the time of the interview but was also happy on the day, regarding his achievement.

Speaking to the man behind the scenes, coach Tumi Sekhokoane added he too is proud of how far the boys have come.

“It was a tough weekend, but I’m glad we exceeded our goal. We went there to go and participate and enjoy the nationals and we ended up making it in the top 10 in the whole country and that’s a big deal. I think we are on the right track, and we will just intensify our efforts for other competitions in the future and probably come back with gold but overall we are proud of our boys,” said Sekhokoane.
