The Championships were held on February 17, 18, and 19 where Spartans public relations officer Martin Venter explained athletes travelled from the Spartans Dojo to the Brixton multipurpose sports center for the Gauteng Karate Federation Championships.

“There the athletes were able to test themselves against all the best competitors from the Gauteng Province made up of a development and elite category.

All the competitors who took part in the event earned their West Rand colours which will be issued by the West Rand Sports Confederation.”

The competition was a follow-up from the West Rand qualifier held in November 2022 and Sensei Enzo Pillay said he was so impressed by how fast the athletes improved on their weaknesses and was able to implement a winning plan.

The Spartans are proud of all their members and are now ready to take on South Africa at the Upcoming 2023 KSA National Championship as all their members qualified for the event.
