Young girl aims to become a world acrobatic champion

Sadly both of her parents are unemployed and sponsorships are currently needed to make eight-year-old acrobat, Tshedza Seripane's dream come true.

A little girl from Hillshaven in Westonaria wants to live out her dream of becoming a world acrobatic champion.

Eight-year-old Tshedza Seripane has only been doing acrobatics with Trinity Dance Company for a year, but she has already found her passion.

Her mother Witty Seripane said her daughter is currently a level 5 acrobat as a solo dancer, duet dancer and group dancer.

She has always been an active child even before joining the club, and from the first time she was introduced to the dance school she never looked back. This sport is her passion.”

Witty explained that her daughter had received several certificates during competitions such as Acrobatic Festival of South Africa, AFSA International Acrobatic Dance, Clash of the Titans Dance Competitions, National Eisteddfod of South Africa, and the South Africa Dance Festival.

“She also received a few junior trophies, and qualified to be in level 5 in her age group which is an outstanding achievement.”

Her mother explained that Tshedza enjoyed dancing, being on stage and showcasing her gymnastic skills, and its different dance acts.

According to Tshedza this sport is teaching her to be a disciplined team player as well as always keeping time. She sees herself competing internationally and wants to become a world champion. Sadly both her parents are unemployed but started a small business to keep their heads above water.

It’s very tough to keep the business going in order to support the family, and that is why we would love to get sponsors for her.”

Witty added that sponsors would be very helpful because there are expenses they need to cover, such as the monthly club fees, travelling to competitions in and around Gauteng, and the cost of competition costumes.
