Returning to the ATKV Buffelspoort the weekend of Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August respectively, the 18th annual Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and 8th annual Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run will boast a combined prize purse of R52 000.
“We are excited to offer a prize purse for the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic Marathon (+-65km) and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run Long Route (+-24km),” said the Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, Michael Meyer.
“The prize purse for the MTB Marathon will equal R30 000. The overall men’s and women’s winners will each take home R5 000, with R3 000 going to second place and R2 000 to third place. A percentage of the prize purse will also be allocated to the top three finishers in the following categories: Senior Men and Women, Sub Vet Men and Women, Vet Men and Women, Master Men and Women, and Grandmaster Men and Women.”
“The purse for the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run’s Long Route (+-24km) will equal R22 000,” continued Michael.
“The overall men’s and women’s winners will take home R3 000, with R2 000 going to second place and R1 000 to third place. A percentage of the prize purse will also be allocated to the top three finishers in the following categories: Senior Men and Women, Junior Men and Women, Vet Men and Women, Master Men and Women and Grandmaster Men and Women. We also have beautiful trophies that will be up for grabs in both the mountain bike and trail run events. We trust that the added motivation will encourage some exciting racing on event day.”
