Mohlakeng athlete Oarabile Makhakha finished second in the 10km Series 4 Nedbank Challenge on Saturday, June 26 in Gqeberha (formerly know as Port Elizabeth).
The 16-year-old who is a member of the Nedbank Soweto Development Club, said he is glad that his hard work at training has paid off.
I used to jog with my father, Piet Makhakha, until I realised I have more stamina, speed and the capability. Now I want to run faster and compete as often as I can, to be one of the most competitive athletes in the world,” Oarabile said.
The marathon was organised by Eastern Province Athletics.
