Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s national address on Sunday, 30 May that announced a return to lockdown level 2 for South Africa in light of a possible third wave of Covid-19 infections, Fedhealth Medical Scheme has decided to postpone the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run events that were to take place on Saturday, 5 and Sunday, 6 June respectively.
According to Jeremy Yatt, Fedhealth Principal Officer, the decision was not taken lightly.
“We deeply regret having to postpone these events at ATKV Buffelspoort this coming weekend. But, as a responsible player in the health sector, Fedhealth is simply not willing to risk the health and safety of any participant at our events. Furthermore, we are fully supportive of all government initiatives intended to prevent the spread of the pandemic and lower the pressure put on hospitals during this critical time.
“We are optimistic that restrictions will be eased over the next couple of months. By Monday, 7 June we will confirm the new date for the 2021 event,” said Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, organisers of the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run.
In light of the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run being moved to a later date in 2021, existing entrants have three options:
1. Roll over your entry to the new 2021 date. This date will be confirmed by Monday, 7 June 2021.
2. Roll over your entry to the 2022 event.
3. Request a full refund.
Once the new date is announced on Monday, 7 June existing entrants will have from 7 to 21 June 2021 to confirm their choice. Entrants need to send a confirmation mail to entries@stillwatersports.com.
ATKV Buffelspoort accommodation:
Existing entrants that have booked accommodation at the ATKV Buffelspoort according to the June event date(s) will be able to roll over their booking to the new event date (which will be announced shortly) or any other weekend.
