West Rand giants Khosa and Teine clash

In the first round of the GLRU Senior Grand Challenge league, Khosa and Randfontein RC both took home two wins this past weekend.

The rugby season is in full swing, the sun’s shining brightly most days and the nippy wind isn’t deterring any of the guys to take to the field, pass the ball around and get into the ruck.

While school contact sports have been suspended for the time being, club rugby is still going strong and the work is put in to ensure the players are in tip-top shape.

Khosa Rugby Club is in the midst of their GLRU Senior Grand Challenge league and on Saturday, 29 May took on the Randfontein Rugby Club on Krugersdorp High School’s field.

This marked the first round and the fourth match of the tournament. Each of the seven clubs in the league will face off against each of the other clubs twice in the two rounds over four months until the semi-finals are played in September.
