2020 Totalsports Women’s Race cancelled

The popular women’s race scheduled for National Women's Day will not take place this year.

Organisers of the Totalsports Women’s Race have announced that the events, that were scheduled to take place in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban on National Women’s Day (Sunday, 9 August), have been cancelled.

A statement issued by Newsport Media on behalf of the Totalsports Women’s Race on Wednesday, 8 July, reads, “Adhering to the directive from Athletics South Africa (ASA) in response to the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic, a decision has been made to cancel the 2020 edition of the Totalsports Women’s Race. Entries for the events will therefore not open this year.

We are thankful to each and every runner, our sponsors and suppliers for their unwavering support. We look forward to welcoming back runners to South Africa’s largest Women’s Day Celebration in 2021!”
