Junior rugby players sharpen skills

Randfontein Rugby Club Juniors took part in friendly matches against other clubs to develop their skills.

Randfontein Rugby Club’s juniors took on the juniors of other clubs in friendly matches at the Greenhills Stadium recently.

According to Thinus Nortje, chairman of the club’s youth section and head coach, the games are meant to give kids the opportunity to develop their skills on the rugby field and are not about the scoreboard.

“We do this on Saturdays. We move from different areas to challenge other clubs’ rugby teams in Gauteng, so that our players can develop better skills. What better way to do it than against real opponents,” he said.
