South Africans will soon be glued to their TV screens again in support of our national women's netball team.

With our men’s Cricket World Cup chances now something of the past, South Africans will soon be glued to their TV screens again in support of the SPAR Proteas – our national women’s netball team.

From 12 July, South Africa’s SPAR Proteas will be one of four teams from the continent with Malawi, Zimbabwe and Uganda that will spearhead Africa’s challenge at this month’s Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England.

All the teams will be determined to break the Australasian stranglehold on the trophy. For the first time ever, all 60 Netball World Cup matches from 12 to 21 July will be broadcasted on SuperSport.

Six of the last seven finals have been contested by world number-one, Australia and New Zealand with the exception being in 1995 when South Africa captured a silver medal. South Africa’s SPAR Proteas are currently ranked fifth according to the latest netball world ranking released on 1 July 2019.
