School soccer clash: Rem on top against Toekies
Randfontein Primary School (Rem) too good for Toekomsrus Primary School in a series of soccer league games held recently.
It was a good day on the soccer pitch for Randfontein Primary School (Rem) when they took on Toekomsrus Primary School on Monday, 13 May.
All of their teams were undefeated on the day, with only the U/12s held to a 1-all draw, said Tumi Sekhokhoane, Rem’s sport coordinator.
He added that the performance by the school was impressive, as the U/11s won comfortably by 3–1 and the U/13s by a massive 5–0.
Tumi said what makes the victories even sweeter is that they were league matches and an opportunity for talent to be identified to possibly represent Gauteng.
“We are the district champions at the moment, having won the inter-district championships last year. We will also be playing in the district finals, but the dates are yet to be announced,” Tumi said.
