Anglo American Platinum’s gift to soccer
Anglo American Platinum recently donated goal posts and brand new soccer balls to the Super Tigers Football Academy.
Soccer equipment that of goal posts and new soccer balls were handed over to the Super Tigers Football Academy last week.
Ratsietsi Monare, Human Resource Development manager at Anglo American Platinum’s Engineering Skills Training Centre (ESTC) in Randfontein said the donation brings them joy and are they proud to support local sport.
A happy Bongani Duiker, head coach of the Super Tigers said this was the first step to making the dreams of soccer players true and does the academy have more plans for the future.
“This donation will help the academy to function even better. Getting this type of support encourages the players to train harder. I am grateful for everything that Anglo American Platinum has done for us and I hope that their support will grow with the academy,” he said.
He added that the academy is facing other challenges like transport and finances but they are grateful for all the support they have gotten thus far.
