Four members of the Tri Dragons Westonaria Kickboxing Club to soon compete at national Full Contact Martial Arts (FCMA) tournament in Kempton Park.

Four members of the Tri Dragons Westonaria Kickboxing Club will compete at a national Full Contact Martial Arts (FCMA) tournament to be held on Friday, 5 and Saturday, 6 April, at the Indoor Sport Centre in Kempton Park.

The national FCMA tournament will be hosted by Shihan Aslam Mohamed, who is the vice-president of the FCMA association.

The members of the club proved themselves by scooping a number of medals at the FCMA provincial tournament held on Saturday, 3 March in Kempton Park.

Jo-Ane Barnard won two gold medals while Gert de Beer and Nathan le Grange bagged two silver medals each, and Liaan de Beer scored two bronze medals.

Sensei Jannie Barnard said all it took was hard work and determination on the part of the kick-boxers.

“We look at this as an achievement as they are going to be participating in a national tournament. We are looking forward to the challenge,” Jannie said.
