Rem up for athletics challenge in Germiston

Twenty-four Rem learners will represent the school at the Gauteng Athletics Championships at the Germiston Stadium.

A number of athletes will represent Randfontein Primary School at the Gauteng Championships to take place between 1 and 2 March in Germiston.

“This comes after they took part in the Gauteng West District 2 Athletics Championships at Hoërskool Noordheuwel in Krugersdorp on Friday, 22 February. The 24 athletes who participated in 33 events brought home four gold, four silver and five bronze medals,” said Maritza du Toit, coordinator of the athletics at Rem.

She added that the four athletes to represent the school in Germiston early in March are Declan Furstenburg (boys U/10 long jump), Ebubechukwu Udodi (boys U/10 70m hurdles), Simphiwe Kubheka (boys U/11 80m and 100m sprint), and Lesibe Dikgale (boys U/12 75m hurdles, 150m hurdles and 100m sprint).
