Fochville break Mohlakeng hearts in Kasie Games final

Mohlakeng Four Stars lost 5–3 on penalties against the guests Fochville Stars in the final of the annual Kasie Festive Games.

The annual Kasie Festive Games held during the festive season is one locals would want to forget.

This after Mohlakeng Four Stars lost 5–3 on penalties against the guests Fochville Stars in the final. The games were played at the AB Phokompe Sports Grounds in Mohlakeng.

Sefodi Mashamaite gave Four Stars the lead in the first half, but Dennis Adusei soon scored the equaliser for Fochville to make it 1–1. The guests then took the lead in the 63rd minute through a Katlego Molaudzi goal and with little time left, Vusani Chana of Four Stars created some hope and excitement. He also equalised the score, making it 2-all thanks to a penalty goal awarded to the home side.

As the final whistle blew the match went to a penalty shoot-out.

Always a tense affair, it was Fochville who coped with the pressure best and succeeded with all five attempts on goal. Four Stars, however, failed with two attempts and their three penalty goals meant they were the losing side on the day that left the hearts of home fans bleeding.

“We are happy to have won the game. Everything just went according to plan,” said a very happy Fochville coach, Charly Majola.
