Rugby brings people together

The rugby skills of players aged between seven and 18 years were put to the test at a tournament in Greenhills during the weekend.

Junior rugby clubs put their skills to the test during a Get-Together Tournament at the Greenhills Stadium on Saturday, 21 July.

Players between the ages of seven and 18 participated to develop their rugby skills.

Thinus Nortje, chairperson of Youth Rugby at Randfontein Rugby Club said the tournament will be played for 10 weeks.

He further explained, “The season ends on Saturday, 22 September. There is no league or any points; it does not matter who wins, but for as long as players are sharpening their skills for the game, we are satisfied that our goal is being reached.”

Thinus added that the tournament is hosted at various venues in Gauteng to include as many junior rugby clubs as possible.
