Randfontein walloped by Roodeport in Rugby
Randfontein first team outplayed by Poorte, losing 50–7 in a recent West Rand rivalry clash.
Roodepoort Rugby Club walloped Randfontein 50–7 when the two first teams and West Rand rugby giants went head to head at the Greenhills Stadium on Saturday, 23 June.
Alwyn Hollenbach, former Golden Lions player and proud Poorte coach said he was happy with his side’s performance.
“We started off slowly and did not use our opportunities. We could’ve scored four or five tries in the first 20 minutes but we couldn’t finish off.
We can definitely work on a lot of things going forward but overall I feel we did really well,” Hollenbach said.
Hebri Combrink, Randfontein Rugby Club coach said despite the heavy loss, his team gave their best.
“Our performance was okay but at the end of the day we lost the match,” Combrink said.
