What not to miss in sport this weekend!

Here's what's happening in the sporting world this weekend.

The Herald has compiled a list of some of the must-see sporting events that will be screened on television on Saturday, 16 June and Sunday, 17 June.

SATURDAY, 16 JUNE

Football:

• It’s Soccer World Cup time! All eyes will be on Russia as they will host the biggest sporting showpiece until 15 July. Don’t miss Day 2 of the World Cup as France take on Australia at 11.45am followed by Argentina against Iceland at 2.45pm, Peru against Denmark at 5.45pm and Croatia against Nigeria at 8.45pm.

Rugby:

• Week 2 of international rugby starts at 9.25am between the world’s best team, the All Blacks, and France, followed by the Wallabies and Six Nations champions, Ireland, at 11.55am. Tune in again at 4.55pm for the second test between the Springboks and England in Bloemfontein. And if that’s not enough, catch Argentina and Wales in action from 9.30pm.

And, if you are looking for something completely different, catch the following …

• Supercars Championship (Motorsport) from 8.30am.

• Qualifying round of the Moto GP Catalunya (Motorsport) from 2pm.

• FIG World Challenge Cup (Artistic Gymnastics) from 4pm.

• Second ODI between Australia and England (Cricket) from 11.55am

SUNDAY, 17 JUNE

Football:

• The Soccer World Cup in Russia continues on Sunday with the first match between Croatia and Serbia taking place at 1.45pm, followed by Germany and Mexico at 4.45pm and Brazil and Switzerland at 7.45pm.

Rugby:

• Don’t miss any of the U/20 World Championship action, starting at 10.50am between Ireland and Japan, with Scotland and Georgia at 1.20pm, Argentina and Australia at 1.50pm, and Wales and Italy at 3.50pm, with the big rival clash between the Junior Boks and All Blacks at 4.20pm. The grand final between England and France takes place at 6.50pm.
