What not to miss in sport this weekend!

Here's what's happening in the sporting world this weekend.

The Herald has compiled a list of some of the must-see sporting events that will be screened on television on Saturday, 14 April and Sunday, 15 April.

SATURDAY, 14 APRIL

Athletics:

• Day 11 of the Commonwealth Games in Australia starts with men’s sevens rugby as early as 1.20am. The Blitzboks will be in action against Malaysia at 4am followed by Papua New Guinea at 10.30am and finally Scotland at 2.15pm. The women’s tournament started a day earlier with our women’s team in action against Kenya at 4.25am. Other sports not to miss are: boxing from as early as 1.50am, hockey from 2.20am, wrestling from 8.55am, table tennis from 11am, diving from 2am, athletics from 5.55am and basketball from 9.55am.

Rugby:

• Round 9 of the Super Rugby tournament will continue from as early as 5am, with a clash between Japan’s Sunwolves and New Zealand’s Blues followed by the Rebels and Jaguares at 7.10am, the Highlanders and Brumbies at 9.30am and the Waratahs against the Reds at 11.40am. Then tune in at 5pm for an all-South African derby between the Sharks and Bulls in Durban. Other rugby action not to miss is Round 20 of the Guiness PRO14 at 7.30pm between the Southern Kings and Cardiff Blues.

Cricket:

• The Indian Premier League continues at 12.15pm between the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, followed by the Kolkata Knight Riders against Sunrisers Hyderabad at 4.15pm.

Football:

• South African teams to go head-to-head in the ABSA Premiership are Mamelodi Sundowns and Wits at 2.55pm, followed by Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic at 5.55pm, and Cape Town City and SuperSport United at 8.10pm.

And, if you are looking for something different, catch the following …

• The Crabbie’s Grand National (Horseracing) at 6.15pm

• FIM Superbike World Championship in Spain (Motorcycling) at 10.25am

• FIG World Cup individual all-around (Gymnastics) in Tokyo at 5am

SUNDAY, 15 APRIL

Athletics:

• Don’t miss the last day of the Commonwealth Games! Rugby 7s action will continue from 1.20am (women) and 2.10am (men). Other sports to look forward to include squash at 1.55am, table tennis at 1.25am, athletics from midnight, and netball at 2.50am. Then tune in for the closing ceremony at 12.25pm.

Motorsport:

• Tune in at 8am for the main race of the Chinese Grand Prix (Formula One)

If you are looking for something different, catch the following …

• Day 4 of the European Tour Open de España (Golf) from 2pm

• IRONMAN African Championship Port Elizabeth, South Africa (Triathlon) from 6am
