Surprise win at Oval Raceway

Once again, there were motorsport vehicles in all shapes and sizes.

On Saturday, 24 February, engines were roaring, dust was flying and there was no shortage of speed and action at the Randfontein Raceway.

Racing driver Deon Coetzee, owner of the Randfontein Oval Track with Ben Morgenrood, owner of the Ben Morgenrood Group were there in full force, adrenaline pumping.

Once again, there were motorsport vehicles in all shapes and sizes.

The results were as follows:

In the Flexi Category, Deon Coetzee Senior took first place, Ben Morgenrood was second and Hein Lehmkuhl came third.

In the Kiddies Category, Stian Smit stood out and Kevin East took second place.

In the Quads Category, Steward Fell took the crown, Bryan Herbst grabbed second place and Johan Meintjies came third. The 2100’s were won by Gideon v Zyl, Martin Nortje was in second place and Morne Nel in third.

The Midgets 8V winners were Shaun de Koker, Francois Wolstand second and Jan de Bruyn third. In the Midgets 16V Category Tiaan Flynn won, and Franco van der Walt came in at second place. The Ninjas was won by Martin Nel, Marco Nortje second and Astin Nel in third place.

Once again, there were motorsport vehicles in all shapes and sizes.

In the Super GoKarts, Yolande Louw showed the men a thing or two, and Robbie Roberts came second.

In the 1660s, Michael Lubbe won, Ryno Trichardt was second and Tommy Wotherspoon got the third place. In the Supers, Carlo van Zyl took to the podium as the winner, Albert van der Westhuizen was second and Martin Nel third.

The exciting Side Cars race was won by Konrad Britz. In second place was Kallie Britz.
