Mogale team spoil House’s party

A football team from Mogale City proved too strong for locals House Party at the annual Kasi Festive Season Soccer Games recently.

Mogale City Celtics proved too strong for local team House Party by claiming a 3–1 victory at the annual Kasi Festive Season Soccer Games final held at the AB Phokompe Sport Grounds on Christmas Eve.

With just 11 minutes into the first half, Boy Moremi of Celtics made it 1–0 to silence the hordes of local supporters, which included Mzi Khumalo, Executive Mayor of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) as well as RWCLM speaker, councillor Violet Nqina Mzondeki.

Boy then rubbed salt into their wounds by scoring his second goal just six minutes later. Although House Party threw everything at the visitors thereafter, it just wasn’t good enough. Sipho Zwane put the final nail in the coffin shortly into the second half by scoring a third goal for Celtics, making it 3–0.

House Party did get a consolation but it was a little too late when Musetsi Motaung succeeded with a penalty goal to make the score line read 3–1.

John VK Molefe, Celtics coach was happy with the away win and vowed to produce an even better at the Easter Soccer Tournament in April.

“We will return to Mohlakeng with an upgraded team and are looking forward to the challenge,” he said.
