Adrenaline-pumping stuff at 2017 show

Some exciting new events for this year's Randfontein Show have been revealed.

Death-defying motocross stunts and an exciting new ride that rises over 30 metres into the sky are just some of the adrenaline-pumping new events visitors to the 2017 Randfontein Show can enjoy.

The show takes place at the Greenhills Sports Stadium from Thursday, 2 to Sunday, 5 March.

On Saturday, 4 and Sunday, 5 March, the Jungle Rush FMX crew, consisting of Nick de Wit and Dallan Goldman, will be performing some high-flying action tricks over a 22 metre gap while 10 metres up in the air on their motorcycles. Some of their tricks include Tsunamis, Dead Bodies and Rock Solids, and will certainly result in some heart-stopping moments.

“For those who are brave enough, the Sky Flyer will also result in some hearts stopping,” said Marcelle Mans, the Show Coordinator. She added, “This brand new swing ride starts off slowly and close to the ground but it ends up going over 30 metres into the air, with the swings turning as it goes. The Sky Flyer will be on every day from 2 March and there will no doubt be a LOT of screaming from those who go on this new ride.”

Another new and exciting event is the ‘Wild Thing’ Ford Ranger vs Strongman Chaos and WWP Wrestlers Ultimate Power Challenge, where it will be men against machines. This takes place on Saturday, 4 March at 1pm in the Coca Cola Outdoor Arena.

“For those who are concerned about their hearts and want to watch someone a little more sedate, there are the African Tiger Acrobats (Saturday), K9 Search and Rescue Dog Demo (Saturday), SABBS Boerboel Show (Sunday) and the Sir John Adamson High School Drum Majorettes displays (Sunday),” said Marcelle.
