West Gold the new force in rugby

Three of their teams took up the top two spots in the league.

West Gold Primary School has had an excellent rugby season when three teams respectively filled the first two spots in their league.

West Gold’s U/11 rugby team took first place in the B Development League. After finishing as league winners, they went on to play in the Golden Lions Development League. While they didn’t finish in the top spot in the Lions league, they managed to make it to the semi-final.

The school’s first team and U/9 rugby teams then finished second in the league. While the U/9 team managed to make it to the Lions semi-final, the first team made it to the final but unfortunately did not make it to the top spot.

In addition to their rugby teams doing well this season, three of their individual players were accepted into the Lions team.

Thato Lekalakala, vice captain of the first team played in the Lions U/13 B team. Tebogo Shazi played in the U/12 A team while Ashly Motsikoe played for the U/12B team.
