Kickboxing Club miles ahead

Sensei: All his hard work paid off.

Mile High Kickboxing Club in Wilbotsdal once again performed outstandingly during the South African Kickboxing Championships.

Three of their kickboxers took medals at the competition. The Barnard siblings, Jo-Anne and Jannie both took bronze at the competition in points and silver in light-contact. The club’s third kickboxer, Ruan Erasmus, took gold and earned the name of South African Kickboxing Heavyweight Champion.

Ruan has been competing all over the country since last year in order to fight in the SA Championships.

According to Henk Pelser, Shian at Mile High, “All his hard work paid off when he beat his opponent which was much bigger than him – his opponent was all muscle but Ruan was much fitter and had a better technique.

We won at the end of the day and Ruan is now the proud SA Champ.”

Other than the sheer talent his kickboxers have, Pelser also gives credit to his club which gives his athletes an edge in the ring because of their facilities which gives them everything they need to train like the best and be the best. Their facilities include a spinning section, as well as a fully equipped gym.
