SA’s young tennis stars for Egypt announced

Seven players from Gauteng to represent SA.

Tennis South Africa on Tuesday named their boys and girls 14 and 16 and under age groups teams to participate in the upcoming African Junior Teams Tennis Championships.

The teams will battle it out over five days in Cairo, Egypt from 9 to 13 June against the hosts Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Nigeria.

South Africa qualified for the Cairo showdown at the Africa Junior Championships held in Tunis, Tunisia in March of this year.

The teams will be competing for a spot in the World Junior Finals for the under 14 girls and boys, whereas the boys and girls under 16 will be competing for a spot in the Junior Davis Cup finals and Junior Fed Cup finals respectively.

The team selected are as follows:

Girls Under 14
