Celebrity cricketers pad up for charity

Event held near Randfontein open for the community.

Celebrities are gearing up for the first of what will become an annual event, the ‘Celebrity Charity Sixes Cricket Tournament’ to be held on Saturday 25 October in Kagiso near Randfontein.

Hosted by Zihlobo Media the event will highlight the Kagiso Sports Complex in Mogale City and all its great work within the community. Action starts at 10am till 6pm. Parking for the public will be available.

Kagiso Cricket Club is a non-profit organisation which was established in 1996 and it has constantly provided a friendly home not only to active playing members in the Kagiso Community, but to the people of Mogale City.

It is registered with the Gauteng Cricket Board and it has three sides competing in different leagues under Gauteng Cricket Board. They have both active and non-active members who support the playing sides by turning up to lend enthusiastic support in their home games.

Celebrities expected to partake in games on the day include, DJ Milkshake, Actor, Zolisa Xaluva (Generations), Actor Thami Manqula (Generations), Musician, Psyfo, Actor, Duke Motlanthe & Metro FM’s, Joe Mann to name a few.

Professional cricket players, Monde Zondeki and Loots Bosman will also be joining in on the day, showing their support for Kagiso Cricket Club & the ‘Celebrity Charity Sixes Cricket Tournament’.

The aim of the event is to raise funds for the club to enable them to purchase equipment to aid in the development of more youth players within the community.

VIP Lifestyle, have provided sponsorship for the event and are also the kit sponsors for this year’s event. African Star Communications have also taken this annual event on as part of their CSI commitments for 2014.

The stadium will also be opened up for the local community to come along and enjoy the game.
