Hustlers excel away from home

Team of four from Randfontein Bowling Club came third in Selvyn Segal Bowling Competition.

A team of four bowlers from Randfontein Bowling Club took third place at the Selvyn Segal Competition held at Killarney Bowling Club.

According to the chairperson at Randfontein Bowling Club, Martiens Botha, the team consisted of Glynn Rodel, Ronnie Sacks, Alastair Hepburn and Bobby McNeil.

“This team, known as the Randfontein Hustlers, competed against 43 other teams and took an overall third place in the competition,” says Botha.

He adds that each member of the team received prizes to the value of R1 400.

“This is a great achievement for Randfontein as some of the other teams who participated in the event consisted of springbok bowlers,” says Botha.

Randfontein Bowling Club also participated in the Scottburg Bowling Tournament during August and excelled.

Botha explains, “It was a very competitive tournament and all our teams achieved very good results”.

Botha reminds the Randfontein community that Randfontein Bowling Club will host their monthly fun day on 28 September. He encourages the community to come and join in the fun during this event.

“Entry fee to the event is R65 per person and includes a round of social bowls as well as a lamb spitbraai, salads and trimmings,” says Botha.

The event will start at 10.30am and promises to be great fun for the whole family.
