Toyana expects Morris to bounce back

"I am 95 per cent to where I should be."

Bizhub Highveld Lions coach Geoffrey Toyana believes that Chris Morris can get called back to the Proteas if he impresses during the 2014/2015 season.

Morris has been out injured for a lengthy spell but has returned to training following an ankle operation.

Morris has said‎ that he is almost completely fit.

“I am 95 per cent to where I should be”, he said and Toyana expects him to be fit to play in the Momentum eKasi Challenge against the Unlimited Titans on 22 August.

Morris admits that he had a disappointing 2013/2014 season and blamed his ankle injury for slowing his bowling to “a rat’s pace”.

“The batsmen of the other franchises basically took us to the cleaners,” he said.

However, Toyana believes that Morris will bounce back and work his way into the national team.
