Mohlakeng residents in Poland for cross country

Daniels was competing against other athletes from Brazil Poland, France, Portugal and Germany.

Mohlakeng resident Sillas Daniels kept Randfontein’s flag flying high when he competed in a cross country competition in Poland on 9 April where he represented South Africa.

Daniels is pleased with his 7th place finish and says that he is looking forward to honing his talents for future competition.

Daniels who suffers from a mental disability goes to Itereleng Special School in Kagiso and competed in numerous competitions prior to being elected to represent the country.

He then made a name for himself and was one of seven athletes sent to Poland to fly South Africa’s flag high.

Daniels was competing against other athletes from Brazil Poland, France, Portugal and Germany.

“It was really an overwhelming experience as it was my first time abroad.

“Yes it was tough but I managed to rise to the occasion,” says Daniels.
