Soccer academy sets high standards

The Mzolini Soccer Academy, not only gives underprivileged players the chance to compete in their beloved sport, but also gives them a better chance at life.

The Mzolini Soccer Academy, started in 2011 and boasts with great accomplishments over the past years.

Founder of Mzolini Soccer Academy, Aaron Sepolwane, says that he decided to start this academy to help the disadvantaged children in the rural area of Hillside.

“My academy consists of 22 players under the age of 17. They are all very talented in the sport and will certainly accomplish great things in this game,” says Aaron.

According to him, he does not only teach these children how to play soccer, but he also accommodates some of them with a place to stay as they do not have suitable homes to reside in.

“I feel that it is my duty to help these children make something of their lives, therefore I let them take part in soccer, rather than seeing them end up participating in crime and corruption,” says Aaron.

He explains that since he started the academy, he can see a major change in the behavior of the children.

“I truly believe that the children have a lot of potential, that is why I am giving them all the necessary attention they need to get ahead in life,” says Aaron.

The squad has already played various matches since the academy opened and even participated in the Ranfontein Local Football Association’s football league.

“This team is a very strong and competitive team, therefore, they will be competing in the Randfontein Local Football Association’s football league again this year. I am certain that they will measure up to the standards of the other academies,” says Aaron.
