Angling shop hosts successful bass angling competition
Fish-On boasts with a successful bass angling competition at Hobby Park, Noordheuwel.
The Fish-on Angling shop is celebrating their first birthday by promoting bass angling as a sport by promoting a charity bass angling competition in aid of Protearif Primary School.
According to the owner of Fish-on Angling Shop, Cidney Roos, the bass angling competition took place at Hobby Park in Noordheuwel on 3 August.
The competition kicked off at 8am and continued until 3pm.
Cidney adds that it was an open angling competition and anyone was welcome to enter the event.
“Bass angling is a very entertaining sport and it is my mission to promote and create awareness about bass angling among the youth.
“It was a great honour for me to be part of this competition and a great way to celebrate Fish-on’s first year as a local angling shop,” says Cidney.
“The day saw 25 anglers competing for the top spot.”
With great weather and a great dam, fishing was nothing but a pleasure.
The anglers caught a total of nine fish with the biggest weighing in at 0.4 kilograms.
This fish was caught by David foster ensuring him of a well deserved first place.
Wiekie van Loggerenberg and Theo Schoeman were right on David’s tail in second and third place respectively.
“The day was a staggering success. All of the anglers who participated in the event had a great time and enjoyed the weather, fishing and great company,” says Cidney.
He adds that Fish-On will definately host more competitions in the future.
