We have been hearing that same bull !@#$ for the last 25 years. I think it’s about time the residents of Randfontein declare a rates and taxes dispute.
In Greenhills for example, the refuse has not been collected for two weeks. The municipality owes us a credit on our accounts. Sewerage is running into storm water drains in numerous places, and nothing is being done about it … Water has been leaking at the top of Greenhills Avenue and running down Convent Road for over three years!
Some roads, including Lark Road in Greenhills, were dug up many, many months ago for repairs, and have been left like that ever since.
Nothing is being done to repair the water tower …
For over two years, I have reported the electrical pole at 59 Darter Road which is severely corroded and leaning over …
I think it is time to hammer this municipality with payments! I urge all residents to only pay their bills on the last day, the 7th, every month. We will thereby be putting further financial stress on the incompetent municipal officials who take a salary first.
