I wish to express my heartfelt and sincere sympathy to the families, students, educators and parents of the victims of the tragic taxi accident in Mohlakeng that left a score of people dead. [Many of them] were buried on Sunday, 17 February.
As a parent, stakeholder and motivational speaker in our schools, I don’t have precise, concise, exact, accurate and appropriate words and phrases to comfort and console all the bereaved families.
We should always remember that in John 10:10, the Scripture says: “The devil has come to steal, to kill and to destroy”. However, in the Matthew 5:4, the Scripture says: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”. Nevertheless, I believe in the gospel of the Power of Resurrection:
1. John 11:25 – The resurrection of Lazarus
2. Mark 5:41 – The resurrection of the daughter of Jairus – “Talitha coumi”
3. Acts 9:40 – The resurrection of Dorcas – “Tabitha arise”
4. Luke 7:17 – The resurrection of the only son of a poor widow
5. Ezekiel 37 – Dry bones shall live again
As an elder of Spirit of Christ Ministries, I wish to reassure the bereaved families that, our Almighty God, who is Omnipotent, will never ever leave them nor forsake them. The Scripture says: “God is much closer to those with broken hearts”.
May the souls of the departed have eternal rest.
