Taxpayers, municipality to meet a third time

Will it help if we sit around the table with the unions to resolve the financial and management issues?

We would like to invite residents to attend an important meeting, our third, with the council of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) at 6pm on Thursday, 18 October.

The meeting will be held at the Greenhills Sport Stadium in the Show Hall.

The meeting aims to discuss the following matters: water leaks, electricity, roads, sewage, parks, graveyards, clocking system, dress code and tax-payer service.

We are also hoping to get feedback from a previous meeting held with the municipal manager regarding the funding dilemma.

We suggest approaching Parliament in order to place the RWCLM under administration and also suggest having a vote on this matter as the financial history of the past two years shows that the RWCLM will never recover without government intervention. Our city is going backwards, and the value of our properties are going down.

Will it help if we sit around the table with the unions to resolve the financial and management issues?
