A letter of concern to the Mayor

We as tax payers and residents of Randfontein and Westonaria challenge the council to a public meeting at the Showground Hall in Greenhills.

Dear Mr Mayor,

This letter serves to notify you of our concerns about our town and the municipal management. I would like to raise the following difficulties the residents of this town have to deal with on a daily basis:

• What is going on with the switchboard? The number 011 411 0000 has now been out of service for the last two weeks. I would like to inquire how we taxpayers are supposed to go about reporting queries and emergencies.

• From the end of July 2018, we will have to pay increased tariffs for water, electricity, sewage and property taxes, but I fail to understand why the municipality cannot provide proper service delivery.

The taxpayers and residents of Randfontein and Westonaria challenge the council to a public meeting at the Greenhills Sports Stadium at 6pm on Thursday, 21 June.

The agenda will be as follows:

1. Opening

2. Welcoming

3. Apologies

4. Faulty switchboard problem

5. Resolving the following queries

a. Water

b. Electricity

c. Roads

d. Sewage

e. Parks

f. Graveyards

g. Municipal vehicles

h. Neatness of municipal vehicles

i. Municipal grounds and property

j. Neatness of municipal offices

k. Answering of telephones by council employees

Please see this as an urgent request that the municipality and management thereof should promptly respond to, before it’s too late.
