Let’s steer SA into a fair society

Randfontein has succumbed to their racial tendencies. OR Racism in Randfontein?

Randfontein has succumbed to their racial tendencies.

I will not say certain people because we all are residents of Randfontein, and when tourists visit our area they will not say ‘Sarie’ said. They will say ‘Sarie from Randfontein’ said and a hypothesis will be made of Randfontein from what Sarie said. A question from a journalist was posted on the group I lived in Randfontein and survived and the reaction from the community was pathetic.

Insulting Nelson Madela left, right and centre. Now I know race will always be an issue all over the world and we cannot change the blissful ignorance of the ‘chosen few’. I am not for or against any racial or ethnic group, I am however against racism.

I wish we could all see the beauty, intellect and potential in every person. Yes, there are systems in place that favour certain South Africans but they were also there during apartheid and certain South Africans felt discriminated against. Instead of insulting them [the current government] on social media, let us all stand together and protest against this systems/ programmes that favour certain South Africans because I believe Mandela fought for equality and not ‘catch up’.

You cannot change what was done but you can alter what will be. Let’s steer South Africa into a fair society where South Africans all get a fair chance at success – free schools, universities and equal business opportunities – so that when people are not successful, they cannot blame the ‘system’. Let success be determined by sheer will and not race.

I will conclude with the quote by Nelson R Mandela: “If the ANC does to you what the apartheid government did to you, then you must do to the ANC what you did to the Apartheid government”.
