I am touched, are you?

I am already involved, I will definitely vote for change!

I am touched by the painful and shameful history of this country. I am touched by the sacrifices our leaders made for our freedom.

I am touched by South Africans who undermine the power of true reconciliation. I am touched by those who refuse to honour where we come from, for the sake of where we are going.

I am touched by simple people who make a great difference in our communities, but their work is never noticed.

I am touched by politicians who don’t know the significance of their calling. I am touched by the poverty and inequality of our country.

I am touched by the corruption of those who are supposed to bring forth and enforce law and order.

I am touched by the way our leaders justify the unjustified. I am touched by the lack of common sense, never mind intelligence.

I am touched by the fact that connections and wealth are considered more highly than good morals and values.

I am touched by the way we judge each other – by skin colour rather than personality.

I wish it was a peaceful and joyous touch, but unfortunately it’s a painful and shameful touch. But I won’t give up on my country, because that would be as good as giving up on my future.

I am already involved, I will definitely vote for change!
