Being a single and unemployed mother, I dispatch this mail in desperation.
My 16-year-old daughter is very talented as is proved by her being in the elite choir of her school, which took part in the International Presentation of Performers (iPOP!) auditions.
She has been selected as one of the best performers, and invited to go to Los Angeles for an international performance.
As her parent, I can barely make ends meet. But I have a great desire to see that she goes to LA. This could not only make her reach her potential and achieve her dream, it could also mean a change in our domestic status quo.
Hence the dispatch of this email to you. I am humbly asking for any donation you can spare. An amount equalling R100 000 needs to have been collected before the week of 4 to 8 July.
