Firstly I would like to say thanks for coming to share the day with us and writing up on it. Thanks for the front page and for the photos – they were great. Just a few things we want to clear up.
Most importantly we would like to thank the Randfontein community and all others for coming out on the 25th of October to support the Festa and help make it a huge success.
We had a lovely day with fantastic weather and amazing support, and we are truly grateful to each and everyone one. One thing we noticed was you mentioned there were about 200 people there. This seems to be the wrong assumption of the event.
Considering you were there early, supporters were still arriving. We can say comfortably that the event was very well attended with about 2 000 people coming on the day. We sold out on our chickens, our Portuguese treats, pregos as well as on our Caipirinha. We sold 14 drums – about 2 240 litres – of Caipirinha on the day, which is incredible.
We also want to give a huge thank you to all those that worked on the day and before hand to help bring it all together. Without such an incredible team this day would not be possible. We are truly happy and glad the event was enjoyed and supported by our community.
On a more serious note we had a little group of troublemakers and although the event was a success and we are happy, such kind of behaviour is not accepted. We are on church grounds and would like all those who attend to remember not to be disrespectful to that.
Our event is for family and friends to come and enjoy and if certain individuals don’t know how to control their behaviour we would request they rather not attend as we will not tolerate this behaviour. That being said the situation was handled and we wish to assure our future guests this is a priority for us, and each individual’s safety and security during our event is important.
To those that attended and made the nonsense we would like them to know they are banned from future events and that we have right of admission reserved so should they wish to attend we will have them removed.
Other than that small issue again thank you for all and we look forward to next year making it bigger and better.
